UAV Ground Operations.
Skylift recognises that the aircraft is only one piece of a larger puzzle. We have invested significant time and resources to ensure we have the complimentary ground-based infrastructure to support VLOS and BVLOS operations domestically and internationally.
Long range communications
Skylift deploys long-range military-grade radio equipment to ensure a secure and reliable mesh network for the transfer of telemetry, video, audio and data, whether the aircraft is VLOS or BVLOS.
Drone Ports
As BVLOS operations increase, so do the human, logistical and site requirements to ensure a safe and reliable flight operation. Drone ports provide crucial temporary infrastructure to validate the need for permanent UAV infrastructure.
High-speed data connections
Skylift has developed a communications agnostic system that manages multiple data links to ensure redundant comms whilst operating. L-Band, S-Band, LTE, Starlink and Satellite are commonly used to ensure a constant link with the deployed UAV.
Containerised Deployment
Skylift has created SC (Sky command) containers based on a standard ISO 20ft making them rapidly deployable for UAV operations, configured in a module format for the benefit of flexibility and maintenance. Containerised deployments allowed a proper base for pilots solving many human factor issues caused by a long-term deployment.
Mobile command centres
Skylift has designed and built OPS-1 for short-term VLOS and BVLOS deployments. Ops-1 is an off-grid mobile flight command centre which provides a two-pilot flight deck and incorporates a 12-meter-high communications mast for long-range operations. The mobile command centre has been designed to ensure operational efficiency from our extensive BVLOS experience.
Aircraft transportation
Skylift has invested significant time and resources into developing aircraft transportation and storage, as the aircraft's flight mission is only one part of the journey. Ensuring the UAV arrives at the operational site ready and reliable is mission-critical. Each deployable airframe is accompanied by a transportation cradle to ensure airframe components are secure during transit.
